I take it the Op meant to ask if the city is vibrant? NO. A weekend night is quite boring even downtown. Their is very little foot traffic becasue they built the gateway (an outdoor mall) which impacted any downtown nightlife. Also, the metro area demographic contributes to its core cities vibe. if you have lots of mormons who dont drink nor smoke or do any other type of party stuff then you wont have a demand for a nightlife, which is the case in SLC.

The outdoor stuff is good though. But the city has subpar resturants and no real arts and culural venues that would be consistent with other major cities...the city pop is only 180K and half those folks are on the church roster...

RE: poster who reported SLC data on education levels

I cannot understand when someone spouts data about a city that is completely wrong. Either they are a liar or too lazy to confirm hersay.

Most-Educated Cities in the United States

Most literate cities 2008

SLC isnt even on either list. Whats funny though is the poster on here that spouted the SLC false fact seemed to have said verbtaim what the travel link below said...

Can one be an honorary member of the Morman Mafia, even if they aren't Mormon? How would one apply?
