Default Grad Student moving from Michigan looking for housing near UofU

Can anyone recommend a few good places to check out for housing near UofU. I'm moving out from Michigan in August for grad school and would like to find a nice condo/loft/apartment in the $500-$1000 a month range. Where are some good places to look other than Craigslist?

Thanks

You could easily find a place for that much in the Avenues, which is really close to the Univerisity of Utah. The higher up you go (in street number and up the hill) the more expensive it gets. It's a fantastic neighborhood for college people. Just google The Salt Lake Tribune (or Salt Lake newspapers) and check out the rentals. They're listed by area and Avenues is a recognized area.

I know some people who had some success with The Covey Apartments (Covey Apartments). It's in between the heart of downtown and the University of Utah. I know some private apartments around my neighborhood that are great, but they're all rented out at the moment...
