I won't answer it line for line but I'll give my general impressions:

First and foremost I am not pointing the finger directly at the Mexican immigrants. It is all of the South American countries that have people enter here illegally. I was held up at gunpoint at Southtowne Mall back in 2000 by 4 who most certainly were members of an organized South American gang that are orchestrated by the drug cartel to come and rob jewelry salesmen (which is what I was back then). The problem remains next to out of control in this country regarding them in particular, and the FBI are all but powerless to stop it.

As for the Mexican's in particular, in the Salt Lake area in particular, with the great influx of Hispanics coming it, there is NO question that the crime is largely related to that culture. Just watch the news some night. It seems nearly every robbery or murder, when the individual is captured is a Hispanic name. I have to believe this distresses just about every law abiding Mexican as it reflects negatively on all of them. I'm not ignorant to the point I believe for one minute that the majority or even a significant number of them are directly responsible for the crime. But not unlike any freeloader they hitch a ride on the backs of the good folks and ruin it for everyone.. It's sad really.

I too often see and then lament at the long suffering life so many of them just endure. So many just want a better life for themselves and their families. There is little doubt it IS a drain on our resources such as healthcare (remember they treat without requiring insurance in Utah), schools and law enforcement. I do NOT feel that illegals should have rites regarding Social Security, Drivers licenses without competent full coverage insurance and ONLY after having passed State Drivers License tests.

But make NO mistake, this whole excuse about them stealing jobs is a bunch of manure. The jobs most of them hold are jobs most whites would not even take. Some of them are darned good cooks, and frankly you can hardly go to ANY restaurant these days in Utah and not find a Hispanic cook behind the grill. They cook, clean, serve, build homes, do the sheetrock, brick work, foundation work, and just about everything BUT the electrical, plumbing and HVAC work, which is typically doled out to skilled and trained (and sometimes union) white workers.

There are no distinct answers to the problems that stem from the increase of immigration it seems. Most are not that fair in the end, and the other viewpoint is that it is a simply act of breaking the U.S. law. If there was ONE thing that gripes me to NO end, it is the fact that unlike the immigrants of the turn of the century, of which most of us were a part of via our grandparents etc, is that the Hispanic community for some reason, does NOT want to integrate into the Anglo community in regards to LANGUAGE. I am an American....YES.....in America you should and MUST speak ENGLISH. Sure some do and are willing to learn, but from what I've seen the largest portion of those that come in have NO desire to learn OUR collective language. They just want to stick to their OWN and not learn it. It is to the point we are expected to learn Spanish or we won't have a clue. Now THAT is NOT RIGHT. I wish they WOULD declare English the OFFICIAL language of our country and be done with it. It is the RIGHT thing to do. My and most all of the relatives that came over on the boats learned the ENGLISH language. So should they..........nuff said.........

There are a rash of posters lately who top old threads and don't check the dates. There should be sticky, just so people don't waste their time. They even have little clocks by them now to make it obvious that they are older!
