Park City
Can someone give input as to whether Park City has a nice community feel for family, or if it more feels like a tourist town? Would $1Million be enough to get a 4bedroom in Park City? Also, what is the LDS population there like? (No, not stereotyping or anything! Just trying to get a feel for how it compares to surrounding areas and how much religious diversity might be there).
Any thoughts on living there FT, as a family, would be appreciated!!
Thanks.

It's probably the least LDS place in the state.

Here's a more specific question...how's weather up there in spring and fall? I know winters are cold and snowy but how do the other seasons cmpare to SLC (or Boulder if you know both). I've looked it up, but seeing the "avg temps" isnt the same as hearing from real people on whether it's always chilly or springs are gorgeous, or whatever.
Thanks again.

Spring comes late and fall comes early, so while SLC might have beautiful weather, Park City might be much chillier. However, the cooler temps are very welcome in summer, when Park City is beautiful and comfortable.

I think it's feasible to find a 4bd house in Park City proper (zip code 84060) for $1mm, but the chances are better if you included the surrounding zip codes of 84098 and 84017. Closer in houses have a higher premium. Our house is outside Park City and listed well under that price.
I used to live very close to Boulder and can say Park City is definitely cooler. Similar elevation, but further north. Boulder could have warm 50 degree days in January, but Park City has few and good thing - we don't want the snow to melt early!

Frogntoad,
There is a diversity of religion in Park City. Lot of people who have 2nd homes. It is more diversified when you get into the more expensive homes.
Hope that helps?
If you have to commute to Salt Lake, then you may want to consider Emigration Canyon. It is a mountainous community near the bottom of the I-80 about 15 minutes from Park City. You have almost no commute. You are only 7 minutes from Salt Lake and can drive up the canyon on days you choose.
It is also a very upscale neighborhood consisting of Doctors, Lawyers, and upscale businessmen. The sponser of Energy Solutions arena lives up there. The religion is also diversified like Park City.
Good Luck!
Good Luck.
