Besides Kelly Blue Book, where else is there to get prices??? Like for the wholesale price so I can negotiate better. I am doing pretty good and I do look at the carfax to see how long it has been on their lot

edmunds dot com. They will give you the invoice price for anything, and it is free. They also tell you the average price a particular model sells for in a given area.

But I fear we are drifting too far from topics about Utah, huh Coolcats?

Yes we are. The auto forum could give you lots of great advice about car buying in general.

Well I needed advice about car dealerships in Utah not another state..geesh. I know how to buy a car I just needed info about what people thought about dealerships in Utah since I am new here. What is the difference between my topic and people buying a house or foreclosure advice or church advice???? If it has to do with Utah then this is the place to put in the question or topic that one may have correct?

Auto Auction reports from Manheim are the most accurate. They are what 99% of all car dealerships use and base their evaluations of all trades from that report. The others mentioned are pocket guides sometimes close but usually not as accurate as the auction reports as per whole sale which all cars are priced from in the car business.

I was referring to the question about car buying websites. I think getting people's opinions about local car dealers is fair game for a Utah forum. There are a lot of threads about local merchants and services. And who doesn't like getting to poke a dealer who did them wrong?

I suggest turning the sensitivity meter down about 3 notches. DP525 was referring to how the thread was morphing into a general discussion of auto buying.

Just curious... Are you leaning towards a specific make/model?

Nopers...I went to Bountiful and got a great deal with great salespeople Thanks though. I was leaning towards subaru but the ones that they sell used around here have a gazillion miles on them. And I never knew you could sell salvaged here and thats what I was worried about with a car with 160K on it.
