HSM was filmed at East High. I didn't know any part of it was at Murray.

No, they did film certain scenes of High School Musical at Murray High, like the auditorium in the first one.

Murray was rebuilt a few years ago. It seems like 3, so it was probably 5 (time flies by). It is possible to go to any school if you live outside the boundries, if they are not filled to capacity. If they are already full for the grade that you are wanting to attend then you usually have to live inside the boundries. You are put on a "pass" (I don't know what the right word is) and you usually can't have problems of any kind or your "pass" is revoked. There is a term for it but I can't think of it this late at night or should I say early in the morning.

Is there a place where I can get like a "school report card" for public schools in Utah? I don't know how to compare Murray, because GreatSchools.net doesn't have their information.
If I were to live in Murray, how much is too much to spend on a house in Murray? Many of the homes I have looked at are really on the high-end of the housing stock, in fact, the most expensive. I would be worried that it would be hard to sell. Edit: I thought I would give you guys the address and the mls number (5809 Holstein Way, Murray #817461).

Found this on wikipedia. Looks like Disney does donate to Murray High:
Disney filmed three movies at the high school: A few of the scenes from the wrestling movie Take Down (1978) was filmed prior to the renovation of the building which was completed by August 2003. Read It and Weep (2006), the auditorium scene of High School Musical (2006), and Minutemen (2008)[6]
The summer of 2008 Disney will add a reality TV show to the High School Musical movie series called High School Musical: Get in the Picture. The series will be a cross between High School Musical and American Idol and will air on ABC after being shot at Murray High School, the site of some of the filming for the first High School Musical film. The series will have 34 production days, mostly in June, and will air on July 20, 2008. Twelve finalists were picked from across the country to participate in the competition, the show would conduct a nationwide talent hunt followed by a group of contestants undergoing training to hone their skills. The winner of ABC's summer reality show will appear in a music video that is shown over the end credits of the theatrical release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year[7] and an exclusive talent hold agreement with ABC and a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records, one of which will be a version of the song from the music video.[8] Nick Lachey will be the series host.
Disney has always donated generous amounts of funds to help and thank Murray High for having them film inside and outside the building and are expecting to film more films at the school in the future.

Murray is a more expensive neighborhood. They tend to keep their value and I have heard that the utilities are cheaper because they are through the city. You always hear how great the schools are in Murray. I have not lived there myself but it has a good reputation.

Murray Schools....
When Murray's boundaries spread eastward, they incorporated a large swath of the Cottonwood High area as well, so many Murray residents attend Cottonwood, which is a fine school as well. There are a few Granite School District schools now within the Murray city limits, but those schools are excellent and definately nothing to worry about...the further east you go, the more expensive the housing. So, Murray really increased it's property tax base by annexing that portion of formerly unincorporated areas.
As a side note, there used to be a significant divide between "east-side schools" and "west-side schools"...that difference is really skewed now however. Most "east-side" schools have kids from all over attending them. So, you may purchase a home in the Skyline boundaries, but the majority of the kids will come from outside the school's actual boundaries. So, for whatever that is worth, the east-side schools are very liberal with allowing students from all over the valley to attend, and just living there doesn't mean your kids will be going to school only with the kids from their neighborhood.
As far as Murray goes, it's a great city. Fantastic mix of both commercial and property tax base, great amenities, easy access to everything in the valley, and an incredibly stable housing area.
