Default looks like dec. 15th is the magic day

Reserved the moving truck and car trailer. Looks like well be heading there from Tampa, florida. Wish me luck with the long drive, hopefully there isnt any snow lol. Well be moving to the sandy/draper area for now to stay with wifes parents untill we find our own place hopefully in that general area somewhere.

Also, if anyone has info or somewhere I can find info on firefighting in SLC that would be very helpfull. I was going to persue it here in florida but since were moving ill just do it up there. thanks for your help.

Whoo hoo! Congrats on your upcoming move. If you are heading here via I-70, I have heard that can get a bit hairy in the winter, so be careful. Better yet, stay south, up through AZ via I-15.

Sorry I am not much help on the firefighting front.

Safe travels!

Just listen to the weather reports or if you have a laptop, check the weather daily. Southern UT can get some bad snow storms north of St. George as the road climbs. Be careful!

I-70 through the central mountains of CO can be horrible if it snows, and it snows a lot up there. The snow, ice and wind are truly dangerous in those mountains with a rental truck that is towing a trailer.

Consider mapping a second route, via I-40, aka the 'southern' route, via Albuquerque, turning north at Flagstaff, AZ onto Hwy 89, over to St George, UT and then north up I-15. Or I-40 over to near Bullhead City and then Hwy 93 over to Vegas and up I-15. There are a lot fewer mountains on the southern route via Vegas.

Make hotel reservations for both routes, ones that can be cancelled the same day by 6PM. Cancel as needed, depending on snow.

that is awesome, thanks for the tips guys. I was going to og the north route since its not as long (According to the maps) but i guess it would probably even out if i get stuck in a bad snow storm. I have only driven in the snow once so it will be quite a slow endevour if that happens lol

It looks like a good route, staying south is a good idea. Be prepared to deal with snow anywhere from east of Albuquerque to Salt Lake though. But your route will avoid most of the most treacherous mountain passes. Good luck!
