Just looking online we seem to find quite a few good deals on some pretty nice houses. What is the reason for this? Is it a bad area, out in the boonies or what? Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone know if trax runs out there or anything. I looked at a map i found online but didnt know what anythign was lol

TRAX does not run out there, nor have I read about any plans to extend it there. Houses are cheap b/c it is a small town a good ways out from the city.

Well, it depends which city you're talking about. If you're talking about Salt Lake, then yeah, it's about thirty miles away. But Provo is right there (in fact, I think Lehi is considered a suburb of Provo, am I right) about ten or twenty minutes to the south, so I'm not sure you could say it's out in the sticks.

Sorry, I know I'm going to get in trouble for this but Provo is out in the sticks and I WAS referring to SLC.

If you like to have any kind of a social life, you will live north of Lehi in Salt Lake County. Lehi is in Utah County, which is 80+% LDS. There isn't much to do in Utah County except go to church. Sundays everything is closed. Not so much the case in Salt Lake County.

Lehi is 5 miles east of where I live-Saratoga Springs-and is 16 miles south of Draper, and 30 miles from SLC. It is rural, to some extent, but I certainly wouldn't say we're out in the sticks.....

It doesn't sound like Lehi will work for you but if anyone else is wondering about the abundance of homes in Lehi I think it is due to a lot of people getting in over their head. On my BIL's street there are about 5 shortsales. Really nice homes and nice area but people bit off more than they could afford.

My wife and I recently moved to Lehi and I commute to both Provo and SLC. It is a great mid-point, with clean neighborhoods, good schools, and friendly people. There are a lot of homes in the area which are available. The further east you go towards Highland/Alpine the more expensive the homes will be. Trax will eventually run as far south as Draper, and then I believe UTA is planning on running a Front-Runner train from Provo to SLC which will have a stop at Lehi.

Provo in the sticks? Well, not really it is just its own city. Provo is not SLC, and thank goodness for that!!!
