relocating with 10 year old son and dog
Hi there. I grew up in Salt Lake and used to complain about it, I didn't know how good I had it! Now, I've been in Cal for 3 years and Alaska for six years and am leaving my hubby and uprooting my 10 year old son to return. It is very bittersweet. I have health problems and need to be in a warmer climate with more extended family. I am very afraid for my son's future happiness. I never wanted him to be separated from Dad and change schools, but I am increasingly incapable of holding it together here and Dad works too much to keep him. The divorce is very amicable, and Dad will visit monthly.
I am looking at condos in 84109, 84108 and 84106. I want to live in a mixed lds area that is somewhat close to the u and the city. I've considered 84121 and 84124 as well. I can spend around 160. My dilemma is two fold.
1. I have a big sweet lab whom my son and I adore. A lot of the real estate sites specify if they are dog friendly, but don't say if they are specifically not. Are they just omitting info, or is it hard to find a nice dog friendly condo in the areas in which I'm looking?
2. Please tell me my son will be OK. When I was growing up there, one was either lds or a stoner. We are not the former, so I don't want him to fall by default into the latter. He is a good, bright kid who has led a pretty sheltered life thus far.

I don't know about condos and dogs, sorry. My neighbor has lived here for most of her 14 y/o son's life and he is doing fine. Has plenty of friends. We're in 84105, Sugar House. Good luck!

Don't worry, nowadays it is much more complex than "LDS and stoner"

Neighborhoods, not zip codes
SOrry, guess I've been looking at too many real estate sites with zip codes. Basically, the Sugarhouse/Holladay/Foothill area. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

All three of those areas are nice, although they encompass a pretty broad area. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you're looking in those neighborhoods.

bupnorth, Areas you picked are the best in slc. AS for rents, go to KSL.com they have a huge classified section. You will find a good sampling and pricing there, good luck

Sugarhouse Condo for Sale
Myself, my husband and two daughters currently live in Sugarhouse and are needing to move into something bigger with a yard so we are selling our 2 Bed/1 Bath Condo. We have absolutely loved the location and frequent the park and shopping center that are within walking distance. If you're interested in checking our place out for you, your son, and dog...check us out on the MLS #875915. It seems like it would fit your price range and our condo complex is pet friendly.
