I mainly do not vaccinate my children because of the ingredients that are in the vaccinations. I do not want to intentionally put that poison into my children's bodies!! How many people have you heard of dying from the Chicken Pox in the United States? It is a very obnoxious disease to say the least, but you live through it without all the additional poison's from the vaccine. Not to mention that they are not sure when and if you will need a booster, which will obviously create problems in the future. Do some research on the vaccines and then see what you think. I have included just a piece from one website for your reference:

Immunizations are "mandatory" in the U.S. for all children; 7 visits to a healthcare provider for a total of 32 vaccine mixtures - all before the child enters school. Every year, between 12,000 and 14,000 reports of adverse vaccine reactions are filed with the FDA. These include hospitalizations, permanent brain damage, and death. The FDA estimates that this figure may represent just 10 percent of the true damage being done. In just 7 years (by August 31, 1997), the U.S. government spent more than $802 million compensating moms and dads for brain injuries and deaths inflicted on their children by mandated vaccines.

Vaccines Warning: Are they really safe and effective?

I have actually read up a bit on children immunizations, because I have to admit some of them concern me a little. The ones I've read about that seem to do the most harm are the combo ones that combine two or three of the vaccines at once. The risk is minimal percentage wise, but it is there and I can understand your concern

The risk posed to kids from any vaccine is far outweighed by the risk of contracting the diseases. That's the way life is. Nothing is risk free. Vaccination is recommended and has become mandatory because this calculus of risk v. benefit is now well understood within and without the scientific community.

I, personally, don't have alot of respect for parents who choose not to vaccinate their kids. I feel they are gambling with someone else's life. The law might give someone the legal right to do this. It doesn't make it morally right.

People who don't vaccinate also fail to understand a key concept of vaccination. That is the concept of "herd immunity". We don't see outbreaks of epidemic disease anymore because the vast majority of kids are vaccinated. However, the fewer kids are vaccinated, the more chance there is of an epidemic breaking out. Vaccination not only benefits your child, it benefits all the children within the community.

I'm with you Mark. Now If we could all get every parent to keep their brat a$$ kids at HOME when ever they were sick with colds, flu and any other infectious junk they think is ok to expose everyone to for their selfish reasons, we'd have it made. A good portion of the reason for flu and cold outbreaks is the parents that don't keep them at HOME when sick, with a multitude of excuses why. My thought is if you hatched them, YOU take care of them, it is NOT the worlds responsibility to do so.

I have kids and I do stay home with them when they are ill! I also don't like it when they are well and go to school just to have some kid with a cold or what have you sneeze spit all over them. EWww.....

Some of us aren't selfish parents, you know... We stay home when they are not well, we discipline them and they behave in public. They have manners and are polite. There are still a few of the dying breed of good parenting techniques!

Well kaytidid I sure wish it was YOU who were in my neighborhood in mass instead of the prevailing group that is. I agree it is those germ factory brats that are allowed to run amuck causing the issues. Glad to hear there are a few left of that dying breed....just too bad I don't get to see them....

Have no fear, dcisive, they are in my neighborhood, too. I wonder if parenting (or lack thereof) like this is a locale thing or if it is a generation thing...? Utah is the only state I have lived in since I had kids, so I don't know if it is like that all over..?

Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Carry on about immunizations....
