Some parents want to expose their children to chicken pox before the kids are old enough to get serious consequences or have it interfere with school. Some parents don't want to vaccinate. I guess this is what the OP was talking about, hard to tell.

I know a lot of people are against not getting their children vaccinated, however this is my position. I am not looking for a debate, merely looking for someone that has a child with chicken pox to expose my child. Thank you! : )

I don't think anyone was debating anything you said, just explaining! No need to be defensive!!
I don't think all that many people really care whether kids are vaccinated against chicken pox anyway. That's not really one of the "hot debate" vaccinations.
Try Craigslist too. Lots of chicken pox parties in the spring--they must be around somewhere!!

Thanks!
Thank you for the tip. I didn't mean to get defensive, I just didn't want to get an ear full of what others think about it.

This is not a debate, I'm just curious and incredulous. Why would someone expose their child to a disease and make the child get sick when the vaccine does the same exact thing without getting the child sick? What an odd practice. Not that I care. If you want to subject your kid to it, go for it!
By the way, I had chicken pox naturally as a very young child, but then still managed to get it again when I was exposed again around age 12... so I guess nothing is fool proof.

Because the vaccine has not been proven to be as effective as having the actual disease. What some people dont want is to vaccinate their children, then have it "wear off" and they contract the disease as an adult and suffer a severe reaction.

Both my kids were vaccinated and still got chicken pox. My youngest ended up int he hospital for a week because he had them so bad. When they went to put the IV in for him the only place they could locate a somewhat clear area was in his ankle. He even had them inside his rectum, mouth and ears!! Worse part is they got it from me. I was 27 yrs old when I got them and I was vaccinated as well.
Being vaccinated is not a cure all, but it certainly helps. But, parents who choose not to vaccinate certainly have the right to choose not to do so. Sometimes I think those parents have the right idea. So many people I take care of are over 80 yrs old, and most never received any kind of vaccine. It amazes me that they are still around and kicking with all they have been through.
Good luck getting your kids exposed!
