I'm looking for a new stylist, someone I can go to when I need a hair cut and about once a year (maybe twice for the right price) for hair coloring.

Currently my hair isn't quite to my shoulders but I prefer shorter hair, mainly I was blessed with my family's curse of thick hair (thus its cooler when shorter). I went to a stylist....wow it's been at least 5 years ago and I LOVED her but she is no longer in the business. But she cut it the way I want (which was a style she agreed would look good on me) then when she did the coloring she did a combo of either 2 or 3 colors with the foil (light red and a version of blonde). Basically when it grew out you couldnt TELL I had my hair colored so yes more of highlights then anything. It was with the foil because I felt like a satellite dish when she was done, and it didnt take her a long time to do all this.

I've called around and the prices I'm getting are through the roof for doing "2 color highlights". I live on a budget, plus i'm picky about my hair. I've gotten to the point where I only go now once every 2 years (spring and fall) for even your run of the mill haircut because I dont feel comfortable enough with the coloring I would prefer. I just remember when this gal was done you could tell my hair was different but as it grew out it wasn't noticeable at all to anyone else (me included). I'm starting to gray so the highlights help to make the gray less noticeable. I still am in that "I dont have a ton of gray hair" stage, just enough to remind me I have teenagers.

Thanks in advance

I like Debbie, the owner of the Red Poppy on Foothills Blvd. I've followed her around over 8 yrs and now she owns her own place. I've always thought her prices were reasonable but I don't color my hair.
