Moving2UtahfromNJ is on a distinguished road
Default Taylorsville and Mid-Valley

Can anyone tell me about these two areas? Me and my husband are moving to the area and we exploring all options. We like Sugar house and Sandy but I've heard the schools aren't that great in Sandy. Any information on these areas along with any area in SLC would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Assuming you mean Taylorsville and Midvale. They are both suburbs of Salt Lake. Reputation-wise, Taylorville has one of the better reputations on the West side (probably lower than West Jordan, but higher than West Valley, Kearns, and Magna). There are some decent neighborhoods there. But I do hear of some crime on the news taking place also. And I am learning that reputations do not always reflect reality, so safety and quality of life really is more neighborhood-specific than city-specific.

Midvale -- I don't know much about, other than it does have somewhat of a poor reputation, but I can't say if that is backed up.

There are alot of Gang's in Midvale. I would focus on moving to Taylorsville instead. I used to live on the border of Taylorsville and still go to alot of the buisnesses in Taylorsville. They have there problems but what cuity doesn't. Taylorsville has alot of nice family neighboorhoods.
