Default Any C-D Posters Drowning In Herriman?

Saw some awful pictures on the news tonight. Just hope you all are OK and that flood didn't hit your houses. Poor people, it's the 2nd time in 2-3 yrs this happened to them.

This is one reason we would NEVER have bought a house in a potential flood plain. The buyers of those homes clearly did NOT do their homework. Nor was there full disclosure in the paperwork provided by the developer. This is fairly common (happened in Layton, Farmington, Draper and Alpine over the last decade). We are also in Herriman, however chose a lot further up the hill/grade south of 140th south and about 4800 W. We did have our agent go over the paperwork regarding the soil analysis. The drainage planned and executed by the city all but assured there would be NO issues with lack of drainage. Yes I feel terrible for those folks, but more need to be aware of what it is they are getting into AND hold the developer very much accountable for errors in design and layout of the properties in question. Purchasing a home is a VERY serious business, and you NEED to have an attorney review all paperwork and sign off on it. Due dillegence must be carried out or you get what you get. Once again time to take your head out of the sand and be accountable for your life.....pay attention.........

Poor/no analysis of underlying soil conditions/slippage has been a problem in many lots on hills, all along the Wasatch Front. For anyone thinking of buying, it's not just floods to worry about - think landslides.

We're up on the hills in Herriman. No flooding up here, but we did get a strong hailstorm that literally shredded our plants outside. Sucks for those that have flooded; it's a valuable lesson to us all.

LOL you must be a neighbor of mine in the hills as well. One of our bushes indeed got a bit shredded by the hail. I took a picture of the hail building up on our back deck and sent it to KUTV 2 news. They aired it on the 10pm news with my name plastered across the screen. Geez my 15 seconds of fame.
