I would not recommend BYU for most non-Mormons. For one thing, as an ex-Mormon, I find the honor code draconian. (I found parts of it pretty stupid when I was a student there, and I was a devout, very rule-abiding Mormon at the time.*) Not only is drinking alcohol against the honor code (fine) but being present when OTHERS are consuming alcohol is also considered "serious noncompliant behavior" according to the honor code site linked above. There are lots of schools that allow you to be a grown-up.

Choose one of those.
I would also be concerned about the quality of education in a BYU grad program, especially in the liberal arts. (The business program is very highly ranked, as is the law school, I believe.) There are some serious concerns about academic freedom in some of the programs. Definitely do some research into those issues before you decide to go to BYU.
* Although it turns out I probably violated the honor code a time or two, based on the FAQ on the site. I had no idea overnight mixed-gender trips violated the honor code as long as you personally stayed chaste, and I went on one over the summer one year. I am also positive that I talked to my (never-Mormon) father at least once while he had a beer at home. Who knew I was such a rule breaker?
