The zoo is fun. Lagoon will still be open for Frightmares. Boondocks is nice too, if the weather is not too chilly when you are here. Discovery Museum, Thanksgiving Point, Dinosaur Museum in Ogden and Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake.
There are more, but my brain is very tired tonight. I will think and come back tomorrow (uh..later today )
Enjoy your visit!

The public swimming pools are indoor pools, open year-round. The one in Fairmont Park has a wonderful children's pool: buckets that fill and slowly empty into the pool, jets of fountains, a current path to float around, a water slide, and a sloped bottom so that children can walk into the pool to their level. There are family dressing rooms available.

Wow I didn't know Fairmont had a new pool. How long has that been open? I think I swam in the old outdoor pool at that park once my whole childhood. We mostly went to the Y or Deseret Gym. Isn't there an indoor pool near the U of U?

I don't have much else to add. There still might be fun outdoor activities like Halloween themed carnivals, pony rides, fall activities at Gardiner Village or other locations. There might even still hiking and biking up in Park City. The leaves are beautiful in Oct. We might be out there for a week in Oct also. With all the kids' cousins in school we'll have to come up with stuff to do during the day for ages 5 to 17.

The new pool opened maybe 5 yrs ago? Time flies. Yes, the Steiner Center near the U also has an indoor pool as well as an outdoor one; I haven't been there so don't know about the kids' pool.
