Default Possible Mud Rain Today

There is so much dirt in the air from the strong winds that I can't see the Wasatch Mtns from Sugar House, nor the foothills above The Avenues. Last time it was like this and rained, my car was covered in mud so badly I had to pull over and wait til I could scrape it off. If it rains soon, before the dirt settles back down, the rain will turn it to mud. Be careful!

I guess I'm not missing anything then. I haven't seen the outside since 8 am, being stuck in this windowless cubicle and all.

So long as you car is indoors or under a roof, you're good to go - unless it rains after you get off work.

Having just moved here, this is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. It's like a fog but its dirt. Does this happen often?

It's probably dirt blowing off the west desert. It happens on occasion, mostly when range fires have stripped the vegetation off the ground.

We have a couple of fires burning out here in Tooele County, coupled with the winds makes for some very dirty air!

The last time I remember it being this bad was in 2002.

I-80 is closed in Toele Co. for range fires too close to the hwy. And it was closed earlier today for an officer-involved shooting near Saltair.

Looks like we avoided the mud/rain, thank goodness!
