BTW. Would I be "snobbish" to move to Draper? I spent half a day there and really liked it. Any other upper middle class areas where there is a pulse? Not young anymore, but I don't want my kids to be bored looking for something to do nearby.

Thanks.

A snow-blower is a must IMHO! Remember there are slopes to shovel up and down, particularly in Draper. Depending on how far you are willing to commute, Federal Heights or Harvard-Yale might be to your liking as well, and much closer to "town" and its attractions.

Default We are planning a visit in late March early April, 2010

Will there still be snow on the ground in March and April in Ogden and Salt Lake City? We have been trying to move out west for retirement and want lots of sun but do want some snow. We already love Woodland Park, CO, and Bozeman, MT. I actually think your part of Utah will be a big contender if we can ever sell our house in Florida.

Thanks for any input on weather for early part of year.

I think the last official freeze date is in April but I can't remember seeing snow on the ground then - except in the mountains. You will see snow-covered peaks until late July. There is a chance of snow or snow remaining on the ground in MArch.

I'm with you! 65 degrees is about the lowest temperature I can handle comfortably. And we're headed there fast. I am absolutely dreading winter.

I lived in the Harvard-Yale area for six months years back, and it was so snobbish I thought I'd die. I would live in Draper any day before I'd go back to the Harvard-Yale area. You couldn't drag me back there for all the money in the world, and I mean that.

We can get snow into May actually, but by about mid-March, the weather is generally warm enough that it melts relatively quickly. (Not quickly enough for me, I should point out, but then I'm only okay with snow from Thanksgiving till New Year's. After that, I'm ready for Spring and am literally counting the days.)
