Ogden, SLC, or Provo?
We're a young married couple, no children, and recent grads. We're heading for the hills and it all looks nice online but I have read a few disturbing things about all areas so what would be best for us? We seem to be drawn to the mountains in Ogden but it doesn't sound like it's thriving.
Opinions if you were us?
We'll move in 6 months to a year from Houston, TX.
Interested in decently priced houses, good views, and comfortable neighborhoods.

Just my opinion, but I like Salt Lake City the best. And I mean the city itself, not the suburbs. It's where it might be easier for you to fit in w/o kids and if you are looking for diversity.
Any questions in general? Will you have jobs or will you be looking? Housing might depend on where the job is. What's a reasonable price to you? Renting or owning?
Check into Sugar House. It's older, the houses are smaller, but it's walkable and has a lot of different people.

I also think that Salt Lake is a better fit for you all and here is why
Ogden has a bad reputation. I can already hear the Ogdenites groaning and clicking away at the keyboard in response. It is what it is, and it will take time to turn that reputation around-and I do think that the young progressive mayor is giving it a hell of a try!
Provo is so conservative and seems to be the center of-well nothing-except good church going people. Plus the only resort really close is Sundance. That is a good thing but a small thing if you want to ski.
We moved down to the east side and I think-well of course I do-that we are ideally located. Mr is only 10-15 minutes to his job near the airport. I am only 25 minutes to my job in Old Town up in PC. The furthest that I have to drive to ski is 45 minutes to the Basin-which I do love and try to hit once a month. The rest of my skiing is about 20 minutes from my back door to the lift.
One thing that you will not miss is the Houston traffic and humidity!

Ogden has its rough parts. If you want to live North of SLC try Layton. Good schools, community feel and financially stable due to Hill AFB. We lived there 3 years and think its one of the better buys along the Wasatch Front.

Davis County. Bountiful, Farmington, Fruit Heights, and Layton are all some of the best places to live in Utah.

Absolutely, Kaysville is a great place and home of Davis High School.

Layton, Kaysville, Syracuse...all are south of Ogden and North of Salt Lake. That would be my choices in that order. Of course I am partial to Layton. Worked in Layton lived there for 16 years.
