Vehicle Registration
Hi. Moving from out of state. Can anyone tell me how much SLC county vehicle registration + fees will cost? Someone told us over $300. I called DMV today and was told $180 but can't remember if that included the uniform fee or was just the registration fee alone.
TIA.

As I remember, it depends on make/model/age of car, with newer ones being more expensive. I know my tag keeps dropping every time I ahve to renew it.

Uniform fees for a 2007-2009 car are $150.00 per year, so if DMV told you $180.00 that probably included the registration fees also.
Keep in mind you will also need a safety/emissions inspection before you can register the car.

Do not *fall* for the registration fees added when you get your ticket at the safety inspection place.
Go to a DMV and just *drive up*.
Also keep in mind that you *officially* have only ten days I think, to get your Utah drivers license, if you have a job here.

I registered 2 cars today. Both from 2006. 175$ and 180$. The DMV here is awesome compared to So-Cal. In and out in less the 30 min.

And after your inital trip to the DMV, you can renew your registration the following year.

I think you have to renew it every year. Cops get a little testy about that...

Oops! left out the word " online" in my post. Thanks for catching that. It's always fun to laugh at myself and the stupid things I do.
