I just wondered if anyone had any input on this. Living in my current city, I could really tell anyone moving here to stay away from certain companies/buildings. My personal things I want to avoid:

- Students in the building(or party hard singles)
- Pest problems (not enough treatment/ building upkeep to control it)
- Fix-It Issue - Heat/hot water/Security fixed in 24 hours, Etc fixed within a week or so (stove problems, leaky tap etc)
- Strange fix it guys - no criminal background check by company and lurking types
- Fake charges for "cleaning" etc type LLs
- LLs that do not handle/evict problematic tenants (party hardy loudsters, filthy pest bringing types etc)

Things I am looking for:
- Cheap studio(or one bedroom) around 600$ or less
- Pet friendly (one cat) with negotiable deposit
- Util. Included (at least something would be nice)
- Building has to be nice (not "TV nice" but not a student hovel either)
- Good insulation - I dont want to hear people talking through the wall or have poor floor insulation so every stop sounds like a herd of animals on the loose
- Close to the Public Transpo

In which city? Where will the job be?

Folks replying need to be careful of liability laws in mentioning something bad; C-D is not the place for consumer complaints, either. A DM might be more appropriate if you want to really bash someone.

SLC. I can get to the job from the public transpo no problem. I want to live in the non-problematic side of town. I was looking at some buildings downtown. It will just be my first year there so the location does not have to be totally perfect. I just want to be able to sleep at night without the bad rental stuff that can happen. (bugs, bad tenants, bad area)

I will accept direct messages if anyone is more comfortable sharing that way.

This is the worst part of moving I think...Finding a decent LL!
