I'm moving from Ontario, California to Clearfield, Utah. What should I know?
I will be moving this December from Southern California to Clearfield, Utah for school.
What are some things that I might not have here, but will need when I get there or before?
Also, How is the weather? I see that it snows up to 15 inches, is that a lot?
How much does public transportation cost?
What are some cheap or free things that can be done on the weekend?
What is the sales tax there?
Arts and crafts clubs.
Places to volunteer.
Cheap, but good hotel to spend the weekend in(I will need a break from roommates or when family visits)?
Good thrifts stores?
I need to know. I don't want to get there under-equipped.
 I would really appreciate it.

Stuff to do? Well the Hill Air Force Base Museum is a "must see" and it's free to boot. The Ogden train and Browning firearms museum is pretty cool too. You will be a hop, skip and a jump away from Antelope Island, which is interesting too. Also, you have all the regular attractions in SLC that aren't too far away. In the summer there's Willard Bay for boating and swimming and Bear Lake about an hour and a half away. Ogden canyon is beautiful, at the base is the Eccles? Dinosaur park. Ogden also has the treehouse museum if you have kids and Fort Buenaventura (a replica of the first white settlement in Utah, a couple years before the Mormons got here) where they hold an annual Mountain Man rendevous.
In Logan, about 40 min away is the American West Heritage Center, which has a turn of the century working farm and all sorts of activities having to do with the old west.
Deseret Industries is the local thrift store chain, there are all the regular big box craft stores (I only know of the Hobby Lobby in Layton and Roberts Crafts in Centerville) Don't know about clubs though.
For Hotels I would look in Layton
Weather is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Snow is not extremely deep or bad, especially off the benches.
I couldn't tell you on volunteer opportunites, but I think most revolve around the chuches (espeically the mormon church) in the area.

Not rain boots, snow boots. Wait until you get here. You need either a heavy jacket (mine is down ski jacketa0 or a heavy long coat (mine is down). It gets cold here! The lowest I've ever seen in SLC is 5 degrees, but temps in the low 20s are common in the winter.

Clearfield? Where winter clothes and earplugs for the noise from the airplanes landing/launching from HAFB.
Good luck.

I'm used to airplanes I live like two blocks away from an LA/Ontario International Airport.
Why should I wait until I get there to get snow boots?
Also, should I get ear muffs and/or hats?
What kind of gloves should I get?

I've stayed at a hotel in Ontario and I live 20 miles south of HAFB now.
There is no comparison. HAFB is MUCH louder.
No, come with snow boots.

Other winter clothes I should get?
Hats, gloves, earmuffs, etc.
What is the difference between rain boots and snow boots?
Preferably things that are not puffy or brown.

Rain boots have no insulation. Snow boots have insulation. You will ned insulation for your feet. I just think the selection is better here, where you actually need them, than in a place where you don't. LA probably has expensive stuff for skiers.

No actually it is very cheap in LA if you know where to get them and have a great selection, but I was planning to get them online anyways. I could buy them here too since we live pretty close to Big Bear.
What is the difference between a winter boot and a snow boot?
