Default climate for old cars

We are considering moving to the SLC area. I can drive my classic cars year around here in CA but an concerned that the winter in SLC will be hard on my cars. I currently use one as my daily driver as I have a very short drive to work. What can I expect in SLC? Also, is there a hot rodding community in the SLC area. Local Car shows?

Thanks

The salt used on the roads might be a problem in the winter. Most of the time, however, the roads are plowed & very accessible. My dad used to restore cars, and keeping the rust at bay was a challenege (it's even in the air!).

Periodically I hear of car shows. But because of weather most are in the spring/summer.

Perhaps visiting one of these two places would help you connect with fellow hot rodders:

Have you looked into St. George, Utah? It doesn't snow there and the dry climate would be good for a classic car. And you're only 4 hours from SLC if you want to drive up to a car show.

Default winter driving

I do not drive my colledtors in the winter because of the salt used on the roads, and now they even use brine on most freeways and it gets into places that mere salt can't.

There are pretty good hot rod communities here and plenty of shows in the summer to show off your babies.
