msfoom,
I enjoyed this thread. As a member of the local prevailing religion I didn't take offense at all and thought it was rather humorous. I do think that the Forbes article is somewhat skewed as SLC is the medical hub of the Intermountain West so many people from surrounding states do come here for medical procedures. And since the population of SLC proper is small then that really skews the statistics.

Anyway, it was great for kicks and giggles. Welcome to SLC and hope you keep enjoying it!

I do agree with you that Utah is one of the healthiest states. (that I've seen on reports) Previously I thought it was because the church encourages proper fitness. That may or may not be true - I don't know. Anyway - I like all nice people no matter their religion, race or physical appearance. And again, did not mean to disrespect anyone.

i certainly could be wrong, but i don't think utah's physical fitness levels have anything to do with the church; i think it has to do with utah being an outdoor recreation paradise. mormons or no, utah would still rank high on the list simply because of the amount of active people that the state attracts.

Just a quick chime in--I know several people who've gone down from Washington just to have major dental work done. Even with the plane ticket, and a short stay, it was still a lot cheaper down in Utah.

Utah also has one of the highest rates for bankruptsy in the Nation. The girls are not afraid to use credit to get what they want. Even if it is only new girls.

Hmmm, just wondering what makes you think that it is the girls that are doing the paying?

it is called a generalization, usually based off of ignorance or anger/resentment issues.
