Midvale (Ogden, Glendale: renting, to live in, assess)

So after all of where I THOUGHT I was going to live, wound up renting in Midvale for a couple of months until we can reassess the situation. Somewhere around W Center St.

Anybody know about Midvale's rep and perceived bad areas or anything like that?

The fast and safe rule I always use is I'd rather live on the east side of I-15 than the west side. The further east you go...usually the better. I personally would not choose to live in Midvale with all the options availiable in the Salt Lake Valley.

So a little more help if you would and could...

I gather Comcast is the cable provider in the area. And from them you can get a decent cable internet connection.

But what is local phone service used? And are there any decent ISP out there are affordable and dependable?

Comcast is probably your best bet when it comes to high speed internet. Right now I'm getting about 8 mbps. I tried DSL with Qwest since I used to have a land line, the speed was so SLOW and my PING was 3x what it is currently via comcast. My wife and I ditched our landline years ago and only use cells now. Comcast does offer voice to some areas in the salt lake valley though. X-Mission is a local ISP that has been about since the old BBS days and is supposed to be really good. I grew up in Ogden, so the ISPs are different up there.

Midvale has gang problems. It is not as bad as maybe West Valley or Glendale but i would live there when there are much better areas in the valley.
