I'm a Java Software Developer here in SLC. I was wondering what others thought about the tech market here? From my position, it's really good: I have a really good job, with lots of options to switch if I'd like to. Is this what people think around here? Thanks.

Just curious - have things changed since you were interested in Texas? Dallas? I saw you post on the Dallas forum a couple months ago and then you were just gone. Just wondering if things have picked up in SLC since your Dallas thought OR did we scare you away with all that wierd conversation?

My wife and I would love to end up in Dallas! The problem is that I'm not getting any bites from recruiters/employers down there. If there's a trick to getting some leads down there, let me know.

I'm in IT, but do .NET stuff. I will say I see TONS of java jobs listed. It's unbelievable. No wonder you're so happy Though I think IT in general is great for anybody who has experience. I'm a recent grad and still looking so it's harder for me (and I picked a GREAT time to graduate /end sarcasm)

The Wasatch Front is known for being a really decent tech area. Look at home grown companies like Novell, Omniture, Overstock.com, Vehix.com, WordPerfect, ancestry.com, etc. EA just recently expanded to downtown SLC as well.
