We are moving to Centerville very shortly. I am curious to learn where and how to access any hiking trails in Centerville. Any advice for learning the ropes of these trails? Looking forward to exploring my new community.

There are trails running N/S along the bench, but not into the canyons, which are really small, narrow and full of brush.

There is also a dirt road loop that goes up to the top of the mountain in Bountiful by the "B" painted on the mountain and in Farmington Canyon (in Farmington), There is some pretty hiking areas up there, a couple small lakes and specacular views of the valley and lake.

Finally, there is a (paved) trail by Legacy Highway in the marsh and a short one in town itself behind Walmart, but hiking next to a freeway and between Walmart and apartment complexes is less than satisfying for me. Farmington also has a short trail that goes by Farmington pond and behind Lagoon in a forested setting and is fun for the kids because you can see Lagoon's Elk and Buffalo up close along the way.

There is supposed to be a fantastic trail network in Bountiful. Google Bountiful and TRails and you should find it. It should only be about a ten minute drive.

I think the best hiking in Centerville or Bountiful is up along the mountain bench, near the Temple. I think the park up there is called Mueller Park.

Mueller Park is a very nice trail. I have never made it to the top, but supposedly you can connect up with City Canyon coming from the other side.

Anything up on top of the mountain is wonderful.
