Gay friendly doctor is a physician who can understand medical health issues confronting gay men. He/she is compassionate, non-judgmental, and familiar with gay society's healthcare concerns and treatments.

I recently changed doctors and one of the questions on the paperwork had to do with my sexual history, including whether or not I was involved in a hetero- or homo- sexual relationship.

Anyway, I can't help the OP, but good luck with your search.

This older thread should help. (And don't pay attention to the posters who question the point of your question.)

why is a doctor (of all people) going to judge you? they tend to keep a level of discretion and professionalism.

Trust me the doctor have seen it all, from wandering bladders, to fork in the eyes.

good luck

Thanks for the good luck wishes, svg. I'm still looking for a gay friendly doctor because I would feel more of a better comfort level being treated by one.

I figured in a city large as SA there'd be a few.

Im curious too, what exactly would you ask a gay friendly doctor as opposed to a not so gay friendly doctor? I mean what is the difference? If its about sex, you can just pvt me and i will tell you.

No, Doctors judge people- All the time. I've dealt with it as an out gay man and refuse to put up with that kind of small-minded BS. It's a perfectly legit question, asking where to go for NON-JUDGMENTAL medical care in an environment that fosters care, not guilt. It's not just 'about sex' when it comes to gay issues: It's about speaking openly with someone who isn't sitting there, quietly seething inside that he/she's going to treat someone they could honestly care less about. Not all Doctors follow the Hippocratic Oath to a T. A sad thing, indeed.

Pvt me OP and I can be of some assistance.
