John Honore was annoying to me. He would speak and then every ten seconds or so make a smacking noise to get moisture in his mouth. Weather Channel is where it is at son.

So do people watch the news on TV to learn the news or stare and drool at pretty people?

These people just read the news from a teleprompter and this thread has gone on for this long?

Is the backstory on these people really that interesting? I ask this in all seriousness.

Far too many people pick the channel they watch based on which channel has the prettiest people giving the news. Enough are choosing that way that it affects the ratings.

The Express-News still has a reporter who has those backstories in her beat. From this, we can infer that it matters to people who read the Express-News, even in an era where a lot of other beats don't get much coverage anymore.
