1. Water park at Sea World (under the kids' castle, if you have kids). Closest

2. Drive to Austin and spend a day at Barton Springs or Deep Eddy Pool. Both have clear, fresh spring water that averages about 68 degrees. Deep Eddy Pool is less crowded and more accessible, in my opinion, though Barton Springs is a real treat.

3. Drive to Garner State Park, spend a day there, the water is cool, clear, and if you get there early (10 a.m. or before) you can find a nice shady spot under the cypress trees and park your chair right in the water. Was just there last Sunday. Very Refreshing.

4. San Pedro Springs here in San Antonio. I still haven't gone, but have heard that it is nice, and free, but only open for two months. The pool water is supposedly not spring fed, but there are springs right there. Ignore the signs and jump in them.

5. Fill your bathtub up with ice water and sit in it. Not as exciting, but if you can't do any of the above four, this may be the best option.

Thank you for the recommendations. Has anyone tried any of the free public pools?
