I love the idea until it talks about teaming up with a local school district. I wonder if once money comes in, will any of it be funneled back into the school district? Otherwise it seems to me districts have no business putting money in it.
I would personally love the idea of having professional soccer here and would definately attend!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm . . . I would love to have a soccer team in SA, but teaming up with a local school district??? Not sure that is the way to go, but what the heck do I know . . .

I don't like the business plan for the Dallas team. I know they got a great stadium and community soccer fields out of it, but they are located way out in the suburbs. Houston has taken a much longer road but I think has a better solution. The Dynamo is building a downtown stadium but putting the community soccer fields, etc. in a close-in suburb. They are partnering with TSU for the stadium. I think a downtown stadium is a better option based on accessibility and community impact. With that said, the Spurs couldn't get the AT&T Center built downtown so I'm not sure they could get a soccer stadium built.

I think a good solution would be to use Alamo Stadium and partner with SAISD for improvements. It's the perfect size for the MLS.

I'm not sure I see the problem with having it out in the suburbs. I know fields in Frisco TX and in Memphis TN have done well. I know too many people that live here that never go downtown for anything at all. I think suburbia you might have that appeal.

IMO UTSA football would blow this out of the water if/when they get a team.

College football & MLS soccer play during completely different times of the year. No competition there.

UTSA will do well once they get established. They're really scheduling some tough teams for a startup program, though.

That's exactly what the Spurs want to do.

We have the Alamodome, Yes I know that is big place, but if is used to host Highschool graduations, Why not use it for Soccer? I don't particular like the idea of teaming-up with the discrict, if an MLS team is comming to San Antonio, I like to be able to buy a beer, and with all the conservative school boards in San Antonio, I know they would make a big deal about that. The main problem facing San Antonio, is that even tough we are the 7th largest city in the nation, we don"t have that metropolitan feel, and we need to change that. so bring the MLS to San Antonio, you got my money for season tickets. Go! S.A.FC Go!
