It is my understanding that parking validations at Rivercenter were discontinued a couple of years ago, even if you buy something from one of their merchants.

Correct. The last time I got any validated parking @ Rivercenter was roughly 2004...then they moved to 1 free hour...and that lasted maybe a year before they started charging for any parking. I used to go to Rivercenter quite a bit on my lunch break but stopped when they stopped offering any free parking. The only way you can get your ticket validated, I believe, is to visit the movie theater or comedy club.

The last validation I got was from the IMAX and it was a discount.

Where is this parking located at exactly?

From 3rd Street, north to Jones, in between St. Marys and 37. There's tons of on-street parking there, and many spaces that aren't even metered. And the meters that are there are super-cheap.

Default LOCALS: How often do you go to Riverwalk/The Alamo

Are they basically tourist things? I'd imagine some locals go to Riverwalk, but how often?

Just curious.

So, not much else to going downtown than? Or am I misintepreting this particular response?
