Wow...does she need to have papers and be registered?
In any case, I have met first generation Germans here..but they are all over the place..not just New Braunfels...maybe Fredericksburg?

Really? New? Interesting.....heh.....

However, a *very* critically-important phrase I made SURE to learn years ago was: "Sie ist ein sehr schönes Fräulein {or Mädchen}, ja!"

trans: "You are a very lovely girl, yes."

{you know, in case I finally one day get to attend Wave-Gotik-Treffen:

Heh, I was actually dating a slightly older lovely woman years ago whose 'Mutti' herself was from Germany, and I guess I scored points automatically in my favour from her in making small talk periodically, heh.....but alas! It didn't work out between me and her daughter. Ach!

Oh, I like that image above too, by the way; German Hottehs.......{non-alcoholdrinker that I am, heh}

When Fiesta comes again next year, you should go to Beethoven on Pereira St in the King william (er wilhelm) area. I go every year with my half German friends. Last time, one of them joined the organiz for a small fee. The festival is open to everyone. this last year, they started charging though $5
