My first paying gig was midnight to 6 at KBER in 1973. The station had gone from straight country to "Progressive Country". What that meant was one CW hit, one R&B hit and one top 40 hit over and over in that order. We sucked but were kind of a novelty. They gave me the name Robin C. Scott - the same as the guy that I replaced because they already had paid for name jingles. Our program director was Doug Shane and I followed a guy who worked evenings named Andy Carr - "the crazy cat in a cowboy hat". Weird times.

This thread made me go look for some of my old tapes. OMG I found one when KTFM was 103 and they were playing Phil Collins :O LOL One of their slogans was "Less talk, more music" something like that and "No one plays more music like KTFM, nobody". Anyway, after the Phil Collins song they played a freestyle lol There was a DJ that started talking her name was Helen, couldn't understand her DJ name or last name, sounded like "wheels" This was in the early 90s. Then I found another one where it was in the late 90s, haven't listened to it all yet, but there is some r&b, hip hop and freestyle, pretty sure when it was KTFM 102.7. There was another tape I found of when La Romantica station existed, which was like in the early 90s, I believe.
Unfortunately, I can't digitalize and transfer to computer as I don't have equipment necessary.

Did you ever hear back from the guy who said he had a KTFM aircheck of Greg Martin doing a Sunday night all request show? I'm Greg Martin and would love and hate to hear that aircheck.

Does anyone remember listening to Alan Dale at night when he would talk about UFO's and ghosts? It was a show like the current Coast to Coast AM.

FM
96.1 KSAQ (Q96) - Dave Shropshire in the mornings. Anyone remember his song which played after Jane Waldman's newscasts around 7:30 or so?

I remember when on Q96 they used to play different versions of people saying good morning, it was a montage I beleive. Those were the days.
