I remember a television ad for 99.5 KISS in the early 1980's. They said that they played pure rock from "1965 to the present." I can't imagine anything they would have played from 1965 other than maybe "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones. But I'm sure they played a lot of late 60's stuff like Clapton and Hendrix.

I listen to 101.9 KQXT sometimes (adult contemporary). But in the early 80's I remember them being pretty much unlistenable. All they played back then was Muzak.

101.9 always reminded me of the dentist office, the music was always depressing.

102 KQXT..I remember those commercials on TV back in the late 70s and early 80s...the music made me want to throw up in my mouth...
My parents were big fans of KBUC with Ricci Ware and Jud Ashmore in the afternoon, I believe. My sister was a big fan of KISS and KEXL because she was such an album rock girl back in the same time period while I was much younger and happy with either 55 KTSA or 103 KTFM. I eventually graduated to KISS too but I skipped around to the one on 96.1, (Q96 I believe), and another one that was at 92.9 (KITY I saw on an earlier post)!

I remember in the 80's it Q96 Vs Ktfm for top 40 music, in the late 80's it was Power 93 who was big then.
