Members of Legs Diamond hanging with DJ's from 99.5 kiss in 1985. I wish I still had my black 99.5 shirt.

Hi,

LEGS DIAMOND!! I used to love that band.

This is going to mean nothing except to a few people who know who Legs were.

edit: I was going to tell a couple of stories about those guys, several of them live around SA now. Too much soap opery, not worth the trouble.

I STILL have my Black Kiss T-Shirts, too bad I can't fit into it!

I was the original Prize Pig back in the day. When Kiss FM had their home office in an office building at Callaghan & 10 I would go there AT LEAST once a week to pick up my latest prizes. I did not have any special phones and all I did was dial FAST (took several years of typing)but for some reason the phone at my work; The Leon Springs Cafe, seemed to always get through. I was the Kitchen Manager (small place) and would work 50 - 60 hours a week and always listen to KISS (and other stations depending on what they were giving away). I tried to win EVERYTHING and I won once or twice a week on average. For several years, I went to just about every concert for free, got to see Clapton at the summit, won a trip to Puerto Vallarta, won a trip to Mardis Gras, won a bunch of Party Bus trips, won cash off of KZEP, won a CD Player (they were a BIG DEAL back then), won a trip to the original Lollapalooza with Janes Addiction headlining. Over and over and over, I won. I think I used up all of my luck though because I have not been able to get through even once in the last 15 years or so, but for those few years, my life revolved around winning stuff! They even told me on one of my last trips to pick up a prize, Ozzy tickets and a CD, that they had a new rule just because of me: you can only win ONCE every THIRTY DAYS (dammit!)

Oh Yeah, the reason I still have all of myradio T-Shirts is because I won all of them. My winning wasn't limited to KISS, I won stuff off of ALL of the stations. I was ONE call away from that $10,000 on that country station; KJ 97 FM (I was caller # 96, and to think that I TORTURED myself listening to COUNTRY all week!).

I think Q96 played regular pop-rock? It's been a long time. but I do remember 96-rock very well. I won tickets to see .....don't laugh now, Warrant/Firehouse/Trixter

remember Z-Rock?

Oh Yeah!!

The ahemmm...addled brain from so MANY rock concerts where aaaahhhh... wacky tobaky might have been...

Yes, Z-Rock was another cool station. I remember that Q 96 now. Whenever I wanted to get some action I could listen for a while.

Somewhere in all of my crap I have a sticker album with stickers from every rock radio station over the last 30 years. That was one of the things that I could collect with little or no money so, that is what I did, collect stickers.

Maybe one day I will scan and post my radio sticker collection.
