Yep... it'll be anchored by Deborah Knapp and Bill Taylor. It's a trend around the country.

Why? 3 reasons come to mind: More profitable than syndicated shows; squeezes a bit more out of the station's investment in news talent; convinces viewers that the only station with the 4PM show is the place to turn to for news.

I bet they will have lots of commercials for lawyers so you can go get your disability and collect lots from the fender bender you had last week. Daytime TV is not the best venue for information. I would think 4 PM is a bit early to care about the blood and guts channel 5 reports.

Another news program I won't be watching...

I think at least one or two stations in Seattle did news at 4 also. I never knew anyone that actually watched it.

This isnt too surprising. Day time network tv is horrendous. Soaps are on the decline as a whole. The Today show is on for like 4hrs in the morning repeating what was on earlier.

I work from home and am thankful every day that I have Directv (Cable, Dish, etc apply as well) so I am not forced to watch networks all day long.

It'll be gone in less than half a year. KENS actually had a 4PM news show about 10 or 15 years ago but they cancelled it eventually.

KSAT 12 had a Saturday morning news show a year or two ago and that was cancelled.

I vaguely remember KENS having the 4 pm newscast but I do remember that it was cancelled because of low ratings (as in nobody watched it because alot of people didn't get home til after 5pm.)

People that live in low traffic areas can watch it. Those that live way out west and up 281 past 1604 won't be home in time.

I guess they are going for the welfare and social security crowd,
