Hi SA forumers,

Do any of you have an idea of what the Nurse Practitioner job situation is right now in San Antonio? Are there many NPs working there? I have a relative who is graduating soon and looking to relocate to Austin or San Antonio. As far as we can find, there are *very* few NP jobs in Austin... the Doctors seem to take all the positions themselves, even the less desirable clinics and lower pay situations. I know SA has the medical center and VA, so I figure there would be more NP opportunities there... is that a correct assumption?

thanks in advance!

Just looked at the UTHSCSA board - there's a position listed for a "Professional Nurse Practitioner".

Good luck in your job search!

They may want to connect through one of MANY nursing homes in the SA area, try connecting with the current NP's there, getting access to their offices. There doesn't seem to be sufficient professionals to do this work.

Most everyone who hires NPs want experienced NPs even for nursing homes because those are often the most complicated patients.
