Today is my birthday, and I'm flying out to visit my BF tomorrow. He was going to take me to the Riverwalk for lunch or dinner Sunday, but I heard that there was something special going on this weekend that might make it too busy, and I hate crazy crowds and waiting forever :-(

Tonight is the beginning of spring break week for Texas schools, colleges and universities. The Riverwalk is one of the state's top 5 tourist attractions. It will be crowded for sure.

FWIW, San Antonio's best restaurants are not on the Riverwalk. You can still get a great meal in some other part of the city.

I know, but it's a special birthday for me, and I really want the experience of the Riverwalk.

Do you think it would be less crowded at an off time for lunch on Sunday, say around 2pm?

Don't let the fear of crowds ruin your birthday!! Go downtown, experience the Riverwalk, enjoy Luminaria, and enjoy the crowd - it'll be fine

My recommendation, if you don't mind spending some money... Eat at Citrus!
