Smile I am Moving to Texas Also!!!

It seems so many of us aour moving our way to Texas form California - I tis because Cal. is not all it is cracked up to be as far as I am concerend.

But I need some assistance we are looking for a place to rent and we will not be able to come out there befoe we move. We are on a very tight budget. Are there any areas to avoid.? are there any areas to gravitate towards? I have two small children and I am really trying to get a way from all the lovely things cali has to offer.

I like New Braunfels but it seems a little pricey but it seems that is the area we are going to be headed. (My husband i getting a transfer). Where is a good location to start where I can get something decent (no apts.) that will allow pets and will be good for kids. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Lynette

New Braunfels is an all around great city. You shouldn't have trouble with "bad" areas. Also, are you looking for housing to rent?

Try contacting a real estate company or an apt locater service (you can do a search for them and find them) Anywhere in the New braunfels area is going to be ok.

That might be tough because I think that any searches you do on-line for a rental will be through a real estate company or rental locator company & they will probably run a credit check. I think the only "by owner" rentals you will see would be signs out on the front lawn which of course would be impossible unless you actually went & drove around NB.

You can try Craigslist San Antonio and do a search for New Braunfels rental homes.

I have actually found a couple in the newspaper and mod cut. Unfortunately i don't the area that well though but from what I heard here Anything in New Braunsfel. What about San antonio. I found something on the west side. I just don't want to find out that I moved to the wrong side of town once I get there. Although h e house I found is a little more than most so I think that it might be good. But from calif's prices anything looks good there.

I think commuting from the west side of SA might be a little far to NB.

Using this map:

I checked on the distance between the zip of 78251 (just outside Loop 410W & north of 90W) & NB and it came to 43 miles/48 minutes.

I have no idea what commuter traffic is like to NB though. Do you know what zip your DH's company is in?
