Can anyone recommend a really sweet and gentle podiatrist? I'm a big time fraidy-cat when it comes to my toes, and I have an ingrown toenail I just can't fix. It's time to call in the big guns.

Thanks in advance.

Podiatry Group of South Texas >> Our Offices (http://www.thepodiatrygroup.com/ouroffice.html - broken link)
Dr. Michael Dempsey is located on the Southside on Pleasanton Rd. but my hubby likes him a lot. I just spoke to him right now a few second after I saw your post and said he's knowledgeable, doesn't make you feel dumb about not knowing foot care, takes x-rays on site, and explains options and procedures.
Perhaps there's another doc on the website that someone recognizes and can recommend and is closer to you.

Just had mine removed last month by Dr. Hedman. He is great. I have been to 3 other podiatrist in SA for other problems and would not let them touch my ingrown toenail. I have horrible anxiety and needles are one of my biggest fears. He was gentle and the office staff was great as well. He is located off of Huebner by USAA.

I know what you mean. I've had quite a few of those over the years. And other foot problems, don't get me started...I seem to have foot problems a lot. I've been to my primary and also two podiatrists. I also have trust issues on this and am looking for a better podiatrist. I've avoided surgery so far...that's serious business, IMHO. I'm more interested in their professional qualifications (I'm the mother of another kind of specialist), but of course, the caring part would be nice to go along with the qualifications. Hoping to hear more about local podiatrists!
