Smile San Antonio Schools

I'm looking to move to San Antonio and was wondering if anyone knew some information about Taft High School and Stevens High School. Also does anyone have any information about the middle schools there?

Thank you for your help!

Default check out nisd.net

and greatschools.net for lots of information.

Stevens is only 2 years old and is already capped. My son has gone there since it opened, and I can tell you, it is huge! If you move into a home that is within Stevens' boundaries, your high schooler(s) will go to either Warren or Taft, depending upon location. The Bond that just passed includes a new high school that will be built outside of 1604 and looks to be in between Westcreek and Alamo Ranch. However, the opening of that school will be several years down the road (I think I remember seeing 2010, but now can't find that info, so am not sure.)

greatschools.net has been a big help to many on this board. Check it out! And like I said, Northside's website is full of info as well.

There are just a couple of very small communities that will be allowed to go to Stevens that will not be part of the cap. One area is the community I live--Brycewood (just off Potranco and 151).

Link to the map for capping for Stevens is here: Stevens High School Enrollment Advisory

Oh I wanted to add too...I find it somewhat amusing (okay maybe not amusing) that Stevens was built (I thought) to alleviate overcrowding at Warren and Taft. Now we have Stevens capped and students will be filtered back to Warren or Taft.

As far as info about Taft. I haven't heard anything great about the school from friends who have kids attending there.
