Our trees are covered with these things, they also make webs, I have one dead limb so far, not sure if they are the cause or not. Can anyone tell me what they are and how to kill them? I've lived in SA for 20 years, we bought this house in April and this is the first time I've ever seen these things. I looked up white flies on wiki but that doesn't quite look the same, the ones in my yard are fuzzy.

Most likely they are Aphids, we've been battling them on our bushes as well.

You can get treatment for them at any garden center or Walmart.

Cheers! M2

If it's the same thing we have, according to our exteminator, they are white flies. He says that suck the juice out of the leaves, but are not really destructive. We didn't really notice them on the trees so much as flying through the air - looked like snow falling from our second-floor window. Don't know it they are the same thing.

I bet that what we have all over the pool in the mornings. They were all over the trailer at the lake this summer too. I guess it's the new May Flies.

Kind of looks like that although a little more fuzzy, our neighhbors tree is definetly dying though, I dont want that to happen to our trees, so far just one branch is dead. But they are everywhere in our backyard.

Most sprays attack a variety of pests, just go to a garden department somewhere (Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc) and find a spray. Most you apply with water, and they connect to the end of a hose for easy application...

But act quick as they move fast!
