They hate us on that 0% APR....just be SURE to have it paid off before then! Every time we've used it, we truck along for 5-6 months, and I get tired of messing with making the monthly payments and just pay it off - but not that long ago, that wasn't possible - so we just made VERY sure that it was ALWAYS paid off well before the end of the promotion time!!

I divide the number of months I have to pay it off before the deadline and then add some $$ to the resulting monthly installment to be absolutely certain it's paid off one or two months in advance. That deal has made it possible to buy better quality furniture. I wonder how many people get hit with the interest: it is pretty common for furniture stores to offer the deal, so they must be making money off of enough people to make it worthwhile for them. They'll never get me if I can help it!

That's what usually drives us into getting it paid early as possible - it SOUNDS good to "use their money" interest free, but those of us that have ever been hit with NOT gettin' it done by the deadline have learned just HOW expensive it can REALLY be!
Of course, what I really loved was their "3 years interest free, no payment" offer they used to have....we REALLY abused 'em on that one! Make a payment a year w/tax return and some savings, and then pay off balance about 6 months before it was due.

I thought we did really well at Sofa Mart. The one we were looking at was $1000 for the sofa (w/chaise at the end) and $500 for the matching ottoman. They had a clearance one that I swear was identical for $1000 and included the ottoman.

Louis Shanks.

I am from MN and love Room and Board (local company) for price and quality and great design, but you would have to order sight unseen. However, I don't think you would be disappointed. When I have needed a lot of pieces, I have ordered through North Carolina (Boyle's) and done quite well price-wise but again, you have to know what you are ordering since you can't see it first hand.

Congrats on the new house!!

Depends on what budget you have and what style of furniture you like. There is an IKEA up in Round Rock (an hour away w/o traffic) north of San Antonio.

Welcome to IKEA.com
