Anyone knows if IKEA is going to open here in San Antonio or not? I have read an old thread about a possible opening of IKEA here in town but have heard nothing since then.

For those of you who have not heard of IKEA, it is time to take a road trip out of San Antonio.

There is nothing on thier web site about future locations. It's all rumors. I wish they would open a store here. I'd sell everything in my house and go buy new at IKEA. Well, almost everything.

I wouldn't count on it until there is vast economic rebound. Maybe within the next 5 years. Maybe...

You would be surprised. The Mexican shoppers from Mexico would flood that place.

A metro area with 1.8 million people or so should be able to support one just fine. Maybe they haven't built here yet because they're afraid too many locals would go there and say 'too rich for my blood!'
