Do a 30 minute strength training 3 times a week.
- Throw out your junk food, candy, snacks.
- Stop walking around with Bill Miller mug and throw that away
- Stop eating breakfast tacos
- Eat a reasonable diet and stop eatting to the point of being painfully stuffed. (you dont need to order the foot long at Subway, you can order the kiddie burger instead of a double whataburger - get the idea)

Do all of that consistantly and you will see results. If you cant commit to the above, then you dont really want to lose weight.
Out of all the responses here, this one is the most correct... Thanks Primo.

To the OP, first off, CONGRATULATIONS on your decision to get your body healthy. Remember losing weight isn't about dropping a few pounds....if you don't change you'll gain it right back, and probably then some. Losing weight NEEDS to be a lifestyle change.

Cardio alone does not work...long term. You'll need to build lean muscle mass. LMM burns calories. So as Primo stated, change your diet, perform strength training exercises at least 3 times a week and follow them with your cardio AFTER.. Make sure to eat a high protien, medium carb meal within 30 mins of the completion and your metabolism will stay revved.

Also, for your cardio, look into Interval Training, low and slow works great on the grill, but sucks for cardio training.

Take a look at bodybuilding.com. There are threads geared for beginners, its a great start.

I have one but it has either water or my own green tea. Sometimes I can't keep walking to the water cooler and get away from my desk.

Sorry, but I think going from one extreme to another is never a good idea. For one, there needs to be a balance between a reasonable quality of life and exercise and diet. Most peoples' problems stem from a complete lack of the latter, and an excess for the former. The transition needs to be gradual put progressive.

Seriously, the above plan would probably result in over 95% of the people attempting it to give up within 1-3 weeks; which means it pretty much sets up most of it participants for failure. A good doctor/trainer/coach will help you develop better exercise and eating habits that a person can commit to which will benefit them much more over a long run.

The simple fact is wanting/expecting huge results in the short term is unrealistic. Develop a reasonable plan with reasonable goals, and there is a much better chance of attaining them.

By the way, I am eating Lay's Sour Cream and Onion potatoe chips as I type this! Can ya feel the grease?!?

Cheers! M2
