Has anyone noticed large masses of crickets lately? I recently sprayed my home, dusted weep holes, and dropped granulars on my yard... the next day, I had about 40 dead crickets in my front entrance! I still find the occassional spider, but the number of dead crickets is outstanding. Since then, I'm finding 10 dead crickets per day on average.

In recent weeks, The Home Depot off of 1604/Culebra has also had quite a number of crickets (live ones!). This morning I went to go get some screws and there must have been 200+ dead crickets at the front entrance of the store. Perhaps they had pest control come out and spray.

So, anyone else noticing this invasion of crickets?

Ugh, the crickets! We must have had fifty a day last week. The pest people came out and sprayed Friday and now we have maybe ten crickets in various death stages wandering around. They told us that it is indeed cricket season, and that due to the wet weather it is earlier and much heavier than in years past. They said that now that the treatment has been laid down it should abate slowly, which it looks like it is.

My daughter and were at Heubner Oaks Shopping Center 2 days ago and the wall out side Old Navy was almost black from crickets. Thousands of them!!! My daughter was freaking out. We went inside and then a little later I noticed one on my shirt and I freaked. I swatted it off and said it was time to go. When we left I noticed they were all along the entire shopping center. The sidewalks and the walls were covered.

Saw one in Barnes in Noble the other day....but they haven't moved across this part of town yet!

I remember this kind of think happening at DFW airport about 20 years ago. The offices on the tarmack level had them falling out of the ceiling tiles. The ground floor halls were filled with them. It was gross! Employees would step on them and squish them and the floors would be slippery. ICK!!!! I wanted to come back to SA that summer! It never happened again after that year.

I'm guessing this is sort of the same scenario because of the weather patterns. I've been in SA a long time and haven't seen a cricket invasion yet.
(keeping my fingers crossed they don't come to AH this summer!)

I work at FurnitureRow off of Ingram and 410, we have had a big time problem with the crickets for about 1 month or so. The showroom and warehouse is crawling with them (its soo annoying)..

We also had termanix come in last week, man the stench of 1000's of these dead things s*cks.. one time we used a shopvac to pick them up, we were almost to the top of the bucket when we were done.

LOL....well...I'm sure he was there too! The funnier part is how I spelled the name of the store!

Why the "ewwww" about crickets? There are lots of them and everywhere you go there are dead ones all about. Either kill them if there are too many or deal with it. They are just bugs - they don't even bite! (at least not that I knew of...)

Or get a pet lizard and feed them to it!
