We're still in Florida. We're moving to Alamo Ranch in late aug. early sept. SA made the national news because of the flooding. I hope everyone is doing ok out there. How has the flooding been in your area?

Anyone in Alamo Ranch please let us know how things are going there. We hope you are all well and safe from the floods.

Good luck!

I guess i've been through too many SA flash floods, but it hasnt seemed that bad to me. We got about 5 inches today in northern Bexar county, but there hasnt been any damage around our house. There will always be some high water rescues and swollen creeks when you get this much rain in a few hours. However, if we get another system to come through soon, there could be some major problems.

Hope you stay high and dry. I haven't seen the most recent forecast but I hope it's a dry one for you guys. Good luck!

The ground has become so saturated with rain that any rain now is practically a flash flood watch. It was supposed to have died down a little by now, but today we had a lot of rain again.

As far as the flood threat goes, the problem is not what has happened -- it's what could possibly come. Today, with the exception of the Leon Creek southside flooding was pretty typical with any heavy rain event in San Antonio. However, my concern is how much worse it could potentially get if we get another rain bomb develop over our area once again within the next couple of days.

The local on-air personalities did overdo the flood threat for tonight simply because big rain makers liek those serve to stablize the atmosphere, at least temporarily. Now by daybreak, the heating of the day and sun will destablize our atmosphwere once again leaving the window open for more showers and thunderstorms to develop -- some of which could be heavy.

The bad news in any regard is that, there is no dry pattern in sight... leaving our area vulnerable to a flash flood event.

Hmm anyone remember the rains in the Early 90's that cause the long dormant spring to start bubbling again? I wonder if that will start happening again. I was at a soccer camp at UIW at the time and it had to be cancelled for a week because the fields turned in to natural springs! We even had one in our backyard popup.

Edit: I figured out the date that the aquifer maxed out at. 6/14/1994 703.3’

I remember one big rain in the Spring of 1993. I remember clearly I was at UTSA and had to take a final test that day. I called the offices to find out whether classes had been cancelled, but no such luck. Many roads were closed but UTSA remained open for finals.

Well, UTSA closed at 2PM yesterday, but it's not time for finals!

70% chance of rain/thunderstorms today.
