Default Driver's Ed at Northwest Vista College

Starting Oct. 5 through Nov. 9, Northwest Vista College will offer driver's education training courses. The class is for anyone from the age of 15-17 who wish to get a Texas driver's permit. This class will prepare students for the Texas driver's permit examination administered through the Texas Department of Public Safety and satisfies the 32 hours of in-classroom instruction required by Texas.

That is great! I just wish that was available 2 years ago. Daughter was learning to drive and we opted for the parent taught program since there were no nearby classes. Sure could have saved me a lot of stress, headaches, and money in hair color!

Glad it is available for others.

Same here! We opted for the parent taught for the same reason.

Help me out....parent taught program? If you choose to teach your child how to drive you have to be in some sort of program?

Parent program?
I'm going to check out the DPS link - but just in case in doesn't specifically say so, does the program replace the 30 required hours of classroom instruction?

Go to the link...it gives all the specifics including the required number of driving hours, parent instruction that is required, etc. Unfortunately I don't remember all the specific requirements. I thought it was pretty intense though---would have much rather had her take an actual driving course but none nearby at the time.

Was this a one-time offer - are they offering it again? I cannot find it on their website.

Thanks Sapph. Would rep you if I could. I just paid $200 for the classroom only portion and it is $145 at NWV.
