Default Steak & Shake

Anyone ever eaten at Steak & Shake? I am originally from Georgia and Steak & Shake was the ideal hangout for late night eats and get togethers with friends. They have the best steakburgers you will ever eat, in my opinion of course. The closest Steak & Shake to San Antonio is in south Austin. Most locations in Texas are in the Dallas area. I would love for a Steak & Shake to open in San Antonio. I miss those steakburgers and creamy shakes! I e-mailed corporate about opening one in San Antonio, but I haven't received a reply. The website is Welcome to Steak n Shake. May I take your order? for those of you that haven't heard about this great place to eat.

Unfortunately they are not the same. The closest is in south Austin. The place you're talking about is in front of Wal-Mart on DeZavala right?

Yes, that is the place that I thought it might be...that name does have "Shake" in it, right??? I think there was one also behind Holmes HS near the defunk Krispy Kreme Donuts place that did not make it and is now a used car lot....

Raider, I grew up in Illinois and Steak-n-Shake is where some of my favorite "eating out" memories come from. They have the BEST milkshakes, burgers, onion rings, pork tenderloin sandwich... I could go on and on. Every time we drive by the one in Austin I dream they would build one here so I could take my granddaughter.

As far as I know a Steak and Shake has never been in SA. Although i did hear rumors that one would open at the Rim.

I just looked at their web-site for fun... guess they did away with the pork tenderloin sandwich... maybe during the health-food craze? At least they haven't changed too much else. It's funny b/c I am a child of the 60's and we ate whatever, whenever... before all the "low-fat", "low-sodium", etc and none of us were overweight kids... we grew up on meat, gravy, sugared cereal. Just an observation. Think I'll go get a milkshake!

They are all over Indy. I like their fries, but I would gladly trade them for a Taco Cabana.
